CORPORATE PROFILE
Abbey Asset Management (Abbey) was formed through a management buyout of Galt & Taggart Asset Management from JSC Bank of Georgia in September 2009. Currently, Abbey's AUM stands at approximately USD 40 million, making it the largest independent asset management company in Georgia. Abbey aims to assist investors in discovering investment opportunities in Georgia, with a primary goal of maximizing investors’ returns. The company has established several private equity vehicles to invest funds, raised from international and domestic institutional investors, as well as individuals. Abbey offers these equity vehicles strategic advisory, assisting them in improving management, financial transparency and corporate governance, with an eventual goal of conducting their initial public offering (IPO) at one of the established stock exchanges. Abbey currently acts
as an advisor to an energy fund Caucasus Energy and Infrastructure (CEI), which
is involved in the construction of a medium size hydropower plant in
Akhaltsikhe, Southern Georgia, and the largest pension fund in Georgia Aldagi
BCI pension fund. Until November 2011, Abbey also acted as an adviser to an
agricultural fund Caucasus AgroDevelopment (CAD) in developing a dairy project
in Senaki, West Georgia. |
